A to Z Challenge |
Yep, none of them knew what it meant. All my uncles on my dad’s side gave me a lecture and said I shouldn’t be listening to such things. ‘Cept Uncle George and my dad, the other two were preachers. Uncle Russell wasn’t a preacher as such but he sure could quote the Bible at me whenever he reckoned I needed it.
Accomplishing my dreams in 2022 entails several updates on various projects which I shall refer to in the coming month. Today’s focus is on Accomplishments.
Last year I “had a dream.” To publish a book. Well, I accomplished that though not quite the way I thought I would. Spent January and February setting up a Planner in Ojibwemowin, Anishinabemowin, my native language. It’s undated, has 52+ weeks with days, months, week numbers in Anishinabemowin. Ojibwemowin for the purists. There are English translations in small print. So if you decided to purchase the book over on Amazon, be sure to “read the fine print.” Hahahohoheehee. There’s two links in the sidebar. Ebook is available on my Ko-Fi site if interested.

Oooh, congrats on your accomplishment! Publishing any kind of book is difficult business.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I tried to get one set up for a trip I'd taken a few years ago. Printing price was too expensive.
DeleteA planner in Ojibwemowin sounds like an accomplishment indeed. I love your first word for the A to Z Mildred.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've already sold more print books than the stats show at Amazon. And yeah, that first word was an accident in the thinking.
DeleteSounds like a good exercise in publishing!
ReplyDeleteOh it is. Formatting is easier than a few years ago.
DeleteHow frigging cool that you published the calendar in your native tongue! Have you thought of giving printable e-version to schools in the area where your language is or was originally spoken. I love that the fine print is english. I'm in the challenge too.
ReplyDeleteWell, the idea has crossed my mind. Now, that I know what is involved with the process, I might.
DeletePublishing a planner is definitely an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteYour post has introduced me to the name of a language the I heretofore did not know of. Just don't ask me to pronounce it.
ReplyDeleteNumbers catch my attention a lot. I don't really attach much significance to them usually, but I notice them.
